Our Mission
Our mission is partnering with our clients to develop life-changing, medical interventions quickly & effectively, with a focus on quality, compliance, data integrity and patient safety.
Our Values

Quality
High-quality clinical research is essential to ensure the validity and credibility of findings, protect participant welfare, and inform evidence-based medical practice. It encompasses various aspects of study design, data collection, analysis, reporting, and ethical considerations.

Compliance
Compliance in clinical research is critical to ensuring the safety and well-being of study participants, maintaining the integrity of study data, and producing reliable and valid research findings. We adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and ethical principles that govern the conduct of research involving human participants.

Data Integrity
Maintaining data integrity is crucial for ensuring the credibility of research findings and drawing accurate conclusions. At AFRICRO, we ensure that all data collected and reported are accurate, complete, reliable, and verifiable and represent the observations, measurements, and outcomes obtained during the research process.

Scientific Rigour
We utilize rigorous and robust methodologies to ensure the reliability, validity and reproducibility of research findings to produce trustworthy and meaningful results that can contribute to evidence-based decision making in healthcare.

Patientricity
Patientricity ensures that research is patient-centered, inclusive, and relevant to patients’ needs. At AfriCRO, we recognize patients as partners, leveraging their expertise and experiences to enhance the quality and impact of research studies by actively involving patients throughout the research process.

Efficiency
Efficiency refers to the ability to conduct clinical research studies in a timely and cost effective manner. At AFRICRO, we streamline processes, minimize delays and optimise the utilisation of personnel, facilities and funds through the utilisation of advanced technology.

Excellence
We are committed to a culture of excellence and work hard to implement the highest standards of professionalism in the design, implementation, and management of clinical research studies and the reporting and dissemination of results.

Equity
Equity is commitment to the fair and just inclusion of diverse populations in the design, conduct, and outcomes of clinical studies. It emphasizes the importance of ensuring that research is representative of the broader population by including individuals from different racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and geographic backgrounds.

Health & Wellness
Health and wellness refers to physical, emotional and social well-being. We are passionate about securing the health and wellness of present and future generations of Africans, by providing patients with the means to proactively take control of their health by practicing preventive care and making healthy lifestyle choices.
Why Africa?

Increasing incidence of non-communicable diseases
Africa is experiencing an unprecedented rise in chronic conditions such
as type 2 diabetes, stroke and cardiovascular conditions and cancer.

High population density
Africa is home to approximately 1,438,000 people, which represents 16.72% of the world’s population. This makes it the second most populated region in the world, with 43.8% of the population dwelling in rural settings. Nigeria is Africa’s most populous country with 2.64% of the worlds share.

Infectious & endemic diseases
Unfortunately, Africa is disproportionately burdened by the presence of Infectious diseases such as malaria & HIV/AIDS, as well as tropical diseases, and other endemic diseases. At AFRICRO, we seek to reduce this burden, by playing our part in the research, treatment and prevention of these diseases.

Scientific discovery of ethnic differences
There are significant differences in the physiology, pathology and response to treatment among people of different ethnicities. Further appreciation of these differences will invariably inform their healthcare, treatment options and decision making at various levels.

World-class hospitals and healthcare professionals
African cities are equipped with world-class hospitals, specialist centres, clinics and laboratories, as well as talented, trained and experienced Principal Investigators, Research nurses and Clinical Research Professionals. This increase in clinical research capacity is driving a new influx of clinical research into the continent.

Representation & Diversity for Generalizable Results
Just 2% of clinical trial participants are of African descent, though we represent a great part of the global population. It is fundamental to public health and an ethical imperative for new medication to be tested in all ethnicities, to ensure that these medicines are safe and effective for everyone.

Impact
We consider ourselves fortunate to be involved in work that impacts the lives of millions of families though the work that we do in Africa. We value every single patient and are driven by a mission to deliver safer and more effective medical interventions so our patients can live healthier and happier lives.

Genetic Diversity
There is a wide range of variation in DNA sequences, gene frequencies and inherited traits amongst peoples and groups in the continent from various waves of migration (e.g. the Bantu expansion, Arab and European colonisation) and the transatlantic slave trade, making it an attractive place for research.

Financial Optimisation
Conducting clinical research in Africa can offer potential cost savings compared to conducting similar research in more developed regions. This is due to lower infrastructure costs, lower costs of clinical trial support services, a favourable regulatory environment and the presence of research incentives and partnerships.
